Guy's appearance is in celebration of the 82nd annual Feast of San Gennaro, originally a one-day religious commemoration, now an 11-day street fair beginning on the second Thursday in September in the Little Italy area of Manhattan, an annual celebration of Italian culture and the Italian-American community. This year, the event is from September 10 - 20, 2009.San Gennaro (or in Latin: Saint Januarius) was the Bishop of Naples in the early 300's A.D. He is a martyr saint of both the Roman Catholic and the Eastern Orthodox Churches and the the patron of Naples.
