Foodie Christmas Holiday Recipe Contest

Our friends at www.eatnlisten.com are hosting a "'Have Yourself a Foodie Christmas' Holiday Recipe Contest", with foodie-related prizes including a Guy Fieri Knuckle Sandwich 2 Piece Knife Set: the Chopper Santoku knife, which is built for speed and small dices and Lil’ Guy, who works for peeling and cutting up small fruits and veggies.

No purchase is necessary to enter this holiday recipe contest. Participants must use their imagination to convert favorite holiday recipes into something special by including foodie products in their recipes for the opportunity to win those same foodie products.

Guy Firi joins Phineas and Ferb, Friday, Nov. 25

Guy Fieri sits in the hot seat on "Take Two with Phineas and Ferb" on the Disney Channel this Friday evening, November 25, 2011. The show, a spin-off series from Phineas and Ferb, is an animated talk show that premiered in December, 2010. Phineas and Ferb are interviewing Guy Fieri on this, the 20th episode of the show.

Testy Hearty Vegetable Soup



The beauty of a hearty winter soup you can throw in any vegetables you happen to have, carrots, onions, potatoes, turnips, a Swede, frozen green beans and peas, broccoli, which comes to hand. What you cannot do without, however, is a good stock, either chicken broth or homemade vegetable broth.
With this abundant vegetable soup you can add oatmeal or pearl barley to thicken and give an interesting texture, and you can puree the soup over if you want a creamier texture.
Red lentils can also be added, which will give added protein soup. Make a broth of vegetables is even easier, as you can use vegetable waste, and even onion skins, which darkens the color of the liquid. You need the carrot and onion and celery or two and any other vegetables you have in the kitchen, although I have called you to do a good deed on their own.
